How to get rid off or reduce my student loans?
I have about $65K in various student loans, it has been killing me. I heard there is loan modification like the mortgage modification, it will reduce my loan amount or give me an affordable terms. How to do that?
By paying them off. There are no modification plans for student loans other than qualifying for refinancing. Student loans survive bankruptcy and even your death. Bankruptcy does not wipe out student loans. Anything left for your heirs will be used first to payoff your student loans.
California has some great public institutions that would not have left you with that huge debt. The CSU is considered one of the best education values in America.
